Motion in Spindle Assembly Checkpoint Protein [mad2]

[ jump to morphs ]

Classification [D-f-2]

Structures
1DUJ free
1KLQ peptide-bound

Description
Binding of peptide induces large rearrangement of beta sheet, with strands transposing to the opposite side of the structure. A smaller beta strand becomes helical.
Changes in beta fold are relatively uncommon, seen only in the serpins and the caspase inhibitor.
