Motion in Heat Shock Transcription Factor [hsf]
[ jump to morphs ]
Classification Known Domain Motion, Hinge Mechanism [D-h-2]
Structures 3HSF NMR, unbound [ PartsList ] 3HTS X-ray, complex with DNA
Description Mechanism of contacting DNA is similar to catabolite activator protein (CAP), histone H4, HNF-3/fork-head motif, biotin repressor, and HSF]. In particular, HSF and CAP share a specific sequence of secondary structure elements. However, HSF is only known trimeric DNA binding protein.
